Powerline Ethernet are now offering up to 1 Gb in network speed within the home. This is faster than what you can get from wireless. According to some suppliers this speed is available from any room in the home. For wireless access the only guarantee of best speed is if you are close to the router. There are a lot of work being done to improve the reliability of wireless, the wireless standard is now up to 801.11n, even though it is better than previous versions it is still prone to interference base on where you sit.
